10 Amazing Homemade Face Masks for Dry Skin

Hello beauty’s

If you prefer using natural products on your skin, then you will love these homemade face masks for dry skin. The benefits of making your own face masks are avoiding chemical ingredients (especially useful if you have sensitive skin), plus many masks can be made for pennies with ingredients that you have in the kitchen. So here are some homemade face masks for dry skin. Make sure to wash your face with warm water before and after applying all of these masks, to keep your skin clean and open to the valuable nutrients!

Avocado is an excellent choice for making homemade face masks for dry skin, as it contains a lot of oils (which is why it’s quite high in calories). Since you only need half of the avocado, you can eat the other half and give your skin a boost from the inside as well!

½ very ripe, soft avocado
¼ cup honey

Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey.

Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes.
Rinse face with a cool washcloth.

The good thing about this mask is that you will probably already have the ingredients in your cupboard. You can leave out the bee pollen, which most of us don’t keep lying around! So whenever you need to give your skin the mask treatment, you can just whip up a mask straight from your store cupboard.

1 Tablespoon of Oat Bran (you can use oatmeal, but the flakes look much goofier.)
1 Tablespoon of Yogurt
1 Tablespoon of Honey
1 Teaspoon of Olive Oil
1/8 Teaspoon of Bee Pollen (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a small dish.

Apply to you skin and leave it for 10 minutes or until it is dry.

Moisturize with a good serum or argon oil.

Store any leftover homemade facial mask in the fridge in a sealed container. It should stay fresh for about one week.

A coffee face mask is great for a number of reasons! One, because it softens your skin and helps restore moisture, and two because you probably have plenty of coffee already stocked up at your house!

2 tablespoons of ground coffee
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
3 tablespoons of milk
1 tablespoon of honey

Combine all ingredients.
Smooth mixture onto your face.
Wait half an hour, then wash off your mask with water.

Many commercial masks use fruit ingredients. Here you will find a lovely fruity recipe to make for your dry skin. The problem might be resisting the temptation to actually eat it! So get yourself some extra strawberries, and you can make a fruit salad with the other half of the papaya.

2 large, fresh strawberries
1 cooked peach
1/2 ripe papaya, mashed
1 teaspoon organic honey
1 tablespoon oatmeal

Place strawberries, peach, papaya, honey in a mixing bowl, and mix until the fruits are blended.

Stir in old fashioned oatmeal a little at a time until the mixture forms a paste.

Apply the papaya and strawberry mask to the face and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.

Rinse the papaya and strawberry mask with lukewarm water and finish by applying a good moisturizer.

Cucumber masks can be used for both oily and dry skin, depending on how you manipulate this versatile fruit! For women with dry skin, try this method. It may smell a little strange, but it will all be worth it in the end!

4 Tablespoons mashed cucumbers
2 Tablespoons sour cream

Combine the mixture.
Apply the mixture to your clean skin.
Leave it on for 20 minutes.
Rinse and dry.

You might be wondering if this next DIY mask recipe is a list of ingredients for a healthy breakfast or for healthy skin. Honestly, it works for both! But, if you’re interested in making a deeply moisturizing facial treatment; apply it to your face instead of noshing on it!

1/2 banana
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 tablespoon honey

Cut the banana in half and mash it with a fork.

Mix in the oatmeal.

Add honey and mix well.

Add water and mix until the mask has a creamy consistency.

Apply evenly to clean skin, leave it on for 15, then rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

If you have both ingredients, this is a really quick and easy mask to make – although perhaps not quite as fragrant as the papaya and strawberry mask! The bonus of this recipe is that it is also recommended for use on the body as well, which is helpful if you suffer from dry skin all over.

2 tablespoons real mayonnaise
1 teaspoon baby oil

Combine both ingredients.

Smooth onto face, neck, rough elbows and knees or anywhere else you feel might benefit from it.

Leave for 20 minutes.

Rinse off thoroughly with tepid water.

Coconut oil is an excellent natural moisturizer for dry skin, and can be bought very cheaply. It tends to solidify in cooler weather, but the warmth of your hands will soon melt it. It’s a versatile ingredient that can be used for different skin types, but for dry skin, try the this top choice mask.

2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
1 inch of a ripe banana, mashed
3 drops of frankincense essential oil

Whip all ingredients together with a fork or spoon and apply to a clean face. The banana adds some antioxidant action while the frankincense is good for cellular regeneration. Rinse off after 20 minutes, pat dry, and moisturize.

Do you take Vitamin E capsules? If so, they can be used to make this mask for dry skin. Of course, you should use plain, full-fat yoghurt, and not the flavored variety! If you don’t have any vitamin E, pick some up and you’ll have enough to make masks for months.

2 tbsp. plain, full-fat yogurt
1 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. cooked oatmeal
1 vitamin E capsule
Soft towel

Place 2 tbsp. of plain yogurt in a small mixing bowl. Use full-fat yogurt, as the fat in the yogurt will hydrate and moisturize the skin.

Stir in 1 tbsp. honey and 2 tbsp. cooked oatmeal and the contents of 1 vitamin E capsule. Allow the oatmeal to cool before adding it to the facial mixture.

Wash your face with warm water, and then remove the excess water from your skin with a soft towel. Smooth the hydrating facial mask on your damp skin and allow it to remain for 15 to 20 minutes.Rinse your face, and then pat your skin dry. Finish by applying your favorite moisturizer.

3 tablespoons 2% milk
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 cucumber

Combine brown sugar and milk.
Add in all natural honey.
Before you put on the mask, peel and slice two pieces of cucumber to place over your eyes.
Apply the face mask.
Massage gently into your skin for a few minutes.
Place cucumbers over your eyes and relax for about 20 minutes.
Wash your face with warm water and pat dry.
